Tensegrity Medicine and Mind-Body Work
Do you have pain that doesn’t seem to go away? Sassia provides holistic, gentle, whole body care through the lens of healing justice, Biotensegrity, and treatment methods through Tensegrity Medicine™ , developed by occupational therapist, Kelly Clancy. Sassia collaborates with her clients to help reach relaxation, discuss overall preventative wellness, and ranges of being after trauma, injury, pain, and moving grief with emphasis on consent and an individual’s agency. Through this model, Sassia looks at how the body can be physically balanced 3 dimensionally and how our big emotions (i.e. grief, rage, joy, fear, etc.) get stuck and can increase pain and restriction in our bodies over time. Instead of treating just symptoms or parts of the system like traditional therapy (i.e. shoulder for shoulder pain), Sassia thoroughly analyzes the whole body, taps into the nervous system, and through collaboration, brings awareness to compensation or adaptive patterns in the body system that develop from developmental or genetic disorders, trauma, injury, or repetitive movement patterns. Sassia collaborates with clients while exploring balance between the tension and compression of their fascia (connective tissue) from head to toe. Treatment can include muscle-fascia length exploration, walking and posture assessment, gentle structural integration and touch work, neuromuscular re-education with resistance, mindfulness, body awareness, movement, sound modalities, energy work, somatic and parts dialoguing, tarot and oracle card interpretations, and dream exploration.
